Morgan is 2!

God, I haven't posted anything for ages. It's all been a bit manic here due to illnesses and birthdays and things. Morgan was 2 on Saturday (Oh my God!) and spent the day receiving guests and presents and thoroughly enjoying himself. Here he is on his new Noddy tricicle for big boys!

He had his party on Sunday which was bonkers, five kids running around, doing face painting, pass the parcel and hitting the shit out of a donkey piniata thing! All a bit surreal really but everyone, especially Morgan had a lovely day.

It was a nightmare of a week that led up to his birthday though. Ross and Morgan were ill at the beginning of the week and by Wednesday I had caught it too. Angharad and Gavin (who I am seeing a lot more of than I have in years, which is brilliant) came over and we spent a nice evening chilling and chatting but I was starting to feel rough and got progressively worse throughout the night. After a terrible night sleep I got up and I thought I'd had a stroke. One side of my face felt really weird and I couldn't really see properly. When I turned the light on and looked in the mirror I burst into tears (a ridiculously over dramatic response as it turns out), my left eye was swollen shut, I looked like a monster, it was hideous. Anyway, after a trip to the hospital to see the out of hours doctor it turns out it was just a severe allergic reaction because my immune system was fucked due to the other illnesses I had at the same time. I Did all the shopping for Morgan's party with sunglasses on to hide my eye and a big huge jumper because I felt like I had flu. It all turned out well though and you'll be glad to know that I'm feeling much better now.

I leave you with a picture of Morgan licking the bowl of the egg free chocolate birthday cake that Bili, bless her heart, was trying to make for Morgan because of his egg allergy.
It turns out that cakes without egg in them come out flat and fall apart (and yes I do know about the binding qualities of an egg but we had, in all fairness obtained the recipe from a genuine egg free recipe site on the internet, not just made a cake without egg in it, in case you were wondering) I just have to say a massive thank you to Bili and my Mum (who doesn't read this) for all their help over the last week, I couldn't have done it without them.
